Volunteer at Christian Ministry of Lincoln County's soup kitchen and help open up, cook, serve, clean, and close up the kitchen! Christian Ministry of LC served over 23,000 meals last year, and volunteers are integral to their process. Beyond working in the kitchen, volunteers might also help in the pantry, clothing closet, and warehouse.

The EL Community Garden provided over 3000 lbs of fresh food to the food ministries in 2025, and this year, they're looking to do the same if not more!

Volunteers will help the Sunrise Resource Center add an herb garden with monkey grass as curbing, re-locate pencil boxwoods, and begin spring harvesting and summer planting. Volunteers should bring gloves, bottled water, and shovels. This community garden that will feed the Sunrise neighborhood and surrounding government housing residents. The SRC Garden serves as a fresh food source in a food dessert and allows SRC to provide recipes and cooking classes to coordinate with garden plantings.

This garden will allow for a group that offers daily and weekly purpose, as well as provides vegetables and herbs that seniors can take home, knowledge of how to maintain small garden areas at their own homes, and a chance to gather with friends in a safe space.

This will lead to less theft because now the belongings can be identified. Our neighbors will have more reliable transportation to their places of employment.

Volunteers will take pictures of our neighbors with their bikes and serial numbers to have a record of their property. One volunteer will create a file of neighbor and bike serial number, while another will etch the bikes with their assigned number. They might also man a sign-up table for bike repair classes through a local volunteer.
